Beehive Check

Today we took a quick peek at the bees to make sure all was looking good.  There were many bees up in the super box but they had not built any comb up there.  Since we’re getting closer to winter and they’ve had several weeks to be working up there and haven’t, I decided I should remove it so they could continue to focus on their two brood boxes to have full of food to sustain them  through the winter.  Hopefully this is the best decision for them.  I would’ve love to have collected some honey, but I was also told there was a good chance I wouldn’t collect any honey my first season.
