Transplanting Seedlings

After the seedlings begin to grow, I begin moving them into cups. When multiple seedlings emerge, this is typically when I divide them and place each one in its own cup. To minimize the risk of transplant shock, I sprinkle Epsom salt on each seedling.
Jiffy mentions that it’s not necessary to take off the netting from the pods, but I choose to do so anyway. This is particularly true if there’s algae present on it from being stored in the mini greenhouse.
Once I’ve transplanted them, I’ll initially water from above to ensure the Epsom salt dissolves and reaches the roots. Subsequently, I plan to mostly water from below. I like to use clear cups so that its easy to see when the roots start growing and wrapping around the edges of the cup. Once this happens I will pot up to a larger sized cup. This helps the plant grow healthier and faster. Once the seedlings get to that stage, I will do a post on potting up.
