Oil Pulling

Oil pulling offers numerous health advantages. I’ve included a video featuring Barbara O’Neill that highlights some of the benefits of practicing oil pulling on a daily basis. It’s a great way to detox.
From my research, here are some of the many benefits:
- strengthens the gums
- cleans the mouth
- kills bad bacteria in your mouth
- can reduce bad breath naturally
- pulls waste out of the tongue & glands, sinuses
- gum health: conquer gingivitis, sore gums, bleeding gums, reduce inflammation
- clear up infections
- can it reverse cavities? some say it can. It can help prevent new cavities
- it is believed to whiten teeth by reducing the formation of plaque
Coconut oil is the best oil to use, but you can use other oils. I started with sunflower oil, but now use organic coconut oil. When I used sunflower oil, I noticed when I’d spit it out it would be white. Before I started it was clear. The changing of the color is from the waste you’ve removed from your mouth. Don’t swallow it and do not spit it down a sink or any drain in your house as it will turn solid and cause a blockage. I keep a empty water bottle near my desk that I discard the oil in after each pull.
I began oil pulling consistently about a year ago and I’ve noticed significant improvement, particularly with my gums. Previously, they would bleed quite easily while I was flossing. Now, my gums appear to be in much better condition and bleed considerably less than they used to. Each time I do the pulling, my mouth feels healthy and clean.
