Moving Beehive Stand

Over the last week, I dedicated myself to absorbing as much information as possible about beekeeping. Luckily, I discovered just in time that it’s essential to allow ample space behind the beehive for inspections. Initially, I had planned to place the beehive in my garden, right up against a fence, leaving only about a foot of clearance behind it.

I had two days to relocate the hive stand before pick up the bees. I decided to move it out of the garden since I enjoy having my dogs with me while I work, and my oldest dog tends to bite at them. Therefore, I’m moving it to the west side of our property.  We used the bobcat to level out the ground.  This time, we opted for just the cinder blocks to support the hive.  I added several heavy rocks on top of the hive to protect it from the strong winds that can occur in our area.
