Insulating Greenhouse

Dec 4, 2025 | Blog, Gardening, Greenhouse

I installed insulation on the north side of the greenhouse after learning that it would not only help retain heat but also reflect light onto the plants, providing them with extra sunlight. I covered the back up to about a foot below the skylights. The insulation was placed over the bubble wrap, and I used screws to secure it to the frame to prevent it from sagging. Additionally, I used duct tape to seal each section together, ensuring that any bees that might enter couldn’t get trapped between the insulation and the polycarbonate. I also taped the top to the bubble wrap for the same reason. It appears to help maintain warmth at night, although I’m uncertain about the extent. Nonetheless, I’m pleased with the outcome.
