Fruit Tree Netting Bags

May 31, 2025 | Blog, Gardening

This is my third year of having many fruit trees.  The first year we got some apples but no peaches, cherries, or plums because they were destroyed by insects and critters.  Last year was a total loss with no fruit at all.   This past winter I decided I would try some sort of protection.  I’ve come across negative feedback regarding the use of netting on entire trees, as it could kill the tree so I’m going to avoid doing that.  So this year I have decided to try adding individual netting bags over each fruit.  It takes awhile to get everything covered but hopefully worth the effort and time.

I purchased two different sizes:  6″x9″ from Amazon (affiliate link).  These so far are working great for the peaches and apples.  4″x6″ from Amazon (affiliate link).  These are so far working great for the plums and cherries.  I’m able to add clumps of several fruit in one bag.

I’ll share updates on the performance of the bags as we go through the growing season.
