Add Second Brood Box

Today I did another inspection.  Added more sugar water with a little Honey Be Healthy added to it.  Figured this would be the last time I feed them. Once again, I found burr comb at the top of the frames, which I removed. When I took out one of the end frames, I noticed they were extending the comb more than usual and observed potential cross-combing on some other frames. Some honey dripped down as I removed the frame, leaving me uncertain about the next steps. For now, I’ve decided to leave it as is and will look into it further before returning in a few days.

I decided to add a second brood box as they didn’t have much room left in the current brood box.  Only some space on the outer frames for honey.  Maybe they were building differently as they were needing more space?  Not really sure.  I’m learning as I go.

I also changed the entry to the bigger opening to give them more space to come and go.  I felt they’re strong enough to hold down the fort with a wider opening now.

I stopped at that today.  Will return soon to inspect it in better detail.
